Harvey Molotch is Professor Emeritus of Sociology, both at New York University and University of California Santa Barbara. Prior to NYU, he was Centennial Professor, London School of Economics and held various other visiting posts in Italy and Sweden. His research and writing cover a wide range of topics including urban growth, environment, public security, industrial design, ethnography, race, and interpersonal domination. He has received numerous awards, most recently for Career of Distinguished Scholarship from the American Sociological Association.
