    William Martin "Clu" Gulager (November 16, 1928 – August 5, 2022) was an American actor and director. He was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was known for his co-starring role as William H. Bonney (Billy the Kid) in the 1960–1962 NBCtelevision seriesThe Tall Man and for his role as Emmett Ryker in another NBC western series, The Virginian.
